The poem basically tells us about 19th century life andpeoples attitudes towards unlawful relationships. The poem tells usabout a bungalow maiden who had an affair with a Lord. She looses hervirginity to him, and then(prenominal) regrets the whole ordeal. In the 19thcentury if you were not known as pure, then fellow friends and familywould reject you.
